Mama Shelter is set to open its first Asian property in Singapore this September, adding a 115-room hotel to Killiney Road in the Somerset district.

The French-founded brand, part of hospitality group Ennismore under Accor, has grown to 20 locations worldwide since its launch in Paris. The Singapore opening marks its debut in Asia.

Designed by Dion & Arles, the hotel mixes playful design with local influences. Interiors feature Peranakan-inspired carpets, eclectic furnishings, neon signage and a hand-painted ceiling mural by Parisian street artist Beniloys, created over three months. The rooftop includes tropical greenery, mosaic-tiled pools and a bar with views across the city.

Alongside standard rooms, the property introduces Mama Shelter’s first bunk room, aimed at families and groups. Almost half of the rooms have private terraces.

Food and drink play a central role. On the ground floor, Mama Restaurant and Island Bar will serve brasserie-style dishes by executive chef Eugene Chan, while cocktails are designed by Hazel Long of Junior the Pocket Bar. A rooftop restaurant will focus on Mediterranean-inspired dishes and host DJ sets and live performances by the pool.

The property will also feature the “Mama Shop,” selling branded merchandise, and spaces for games, live music and community events.

Located between Orchard Road and New Bahru, and a short walk from Somerset MRT, the hotel positions itself as a hub for both travellers and locals.

Mama Shelter Singapore opens 23 September 2025. Rooms start from $190++ per night, with an opening offer including breakfast for bookings made before 31 August.
