Emirates reshuffles its commercial leadership team with a series of senior appointments as the airline expands its global network and operations.

The airline has introduced new roles, including Senior Vice President for Network Passenger Sales Development and several Vice President positions overseeing regional clusters. The changes are designed to support regional growth, improve performance across markets and build long-term partnerships.

Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim said the appointments come at a crucial time for the airline.
“Emirates stands at a pivotal moment in its evolution as we scale up our network and deepen our engagement across an increasingly diverse range of markets and consumer demographics,” he said.
“This period of dynamic growth calls for leaders with the right commercial knowhow and the thinking to navigate our complex and evolving industry landscape, so that we can capitalise on emerging opportunities and cement our position as the airline of choice for global travellers. I’m particularly proud that two of the top roles will be led by UAE Nationals who have demonstrated their leadership excellence, and we’re committed to building a robust pipeline of homegrown talent to drive our continued growth.”

New appointments

Matthew Scott will head the Network Passenger Sales Development team as Senior Vice President, overseeing Global Sales and Leisure. He previously worked as Vice President of Cargo Pricing and Interline at Emirates SkyCargo and has more than 20 years’ experience in airline operations, sales and strategy.

Other key appointments include:

  • Abdulla Al Olama, promoted to Vice President for Regional Clusters in the Middle East and North Africa. He joined Emirates in 2012 and has worked across teams in interline, codeshare and revenue optimisation.

  • Rashid Alardha, promoted to Vice President for Regional Clusters in Sub-Saharan Africa. He joined in 2009 and has held management roles across eight countries in the Middle East, Africa, Far East, West Asia and Indian Ocean.

  • Flavio Ghiringhelli, promoted to Vice President for Regional Clusters in South and Central Europe. He became Country Manager Italy in 2018 and previously worked in senior roles across aviation, hospitality and tourism.

  • Pierfrancesco Carino, who will re-join Emirates later this month as Vice President for Regional Clusters in West and North Europe. He brings two decades of experience in sales, marketing, distribution and partnerships at various airlines, including a previous stint with Emirates in France.

The new commercial structure will be overseen by Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales and Country Management.
