Princess Cruises’ Sun Princess is getting an upgrade to its Western Mediterranean itineraries for 2026 and 2027, with new destinations and longer stops planned.

The cruise line has added Mallorca (Palma), Corsica (Ajaccio) and an overnight stay in La Spezia, Italy, on 16 seven-day voyages departing between April 2026 and October 2027. Gibraltar will no longer be part of the route.

The new itineraries include more time in port and a mix of city and countryside excursions. In La Spezia, guests will have two days to explore Florence, Pisa and Tuscany.

Highlights of the updated ports include:

  • Corsica (Ajaccio) – Known as the birthplace of Napoléon Bonaparte, Ajaccio offers visits to his childhood home, Bonaparte Maison, and the A Cupulatta Tortoise Sanctuary with its 180 species of tortoises and turtles.
  • Genoa (for Cinque Terre) – Travellers can head to the famous cliffside villages of Cinque Terre for guided tours, harbour views and pesto tasting, or stay in Genoa to explore its maritime history and architecture.
  • Marseille (for Provence) – Excursions range from strolling Aix-en-Provence’s boulevards to climbing up to the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde for views over Marseille.
  • Mallorca (Palma) – Excursions include a vintage train ride through the Tramuntana Mountains, a visit to a 16th-century olive oil mill, and wine tastings in Santa Maria del Camí.
  • Ibiza – Beyond its party reputation, visitors can walk through the UNESCO-listed old town of Dalt Vila, explore the quieter north of the island, or enjoy local cuisine at Can Curreu.
  • Santa Margherita/Portofino – Travellers can hike to Portofino, visit Cinque Terre, explore Camogli and San Fruttuoso, or take part in food-focused experiences such as olive oil and pesto tastings.

The sailings run between Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome), with departures scheduled from April 2026 through October 2027.
