Travellers between Singapore and Vietnam will have more flight options later this year, after Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Vietnam Airlines signed a new codeshare agreement. The arrangement comes into effect on 26 October 2025.

Under the agreement, Singapore Airlines will codeshare on Vietnam Airlines-operated flights between Singapore and the Vietnamese cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam Airlines, in turn, will codeshare on SIA-operated flights between Singapore and Da Nang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. All flights are subject to regulatory approval.

Tickets for these codeshare flights will become available progressively from 10 October 2025 through both airlines’ sales channels and travel agents.

Mr Nguyen Quang Trung, Director of Corporate Planning and Development at Vietnam Airlines, described the partnership as “a significant milestone in the ongoing strategic partnership between Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines — one of the world’s most prestigious 5-star carriers.” He added that the collaboration “leverages the extensive route networks and premium services of both airlines, enhancing connectivity between Vietnam and Singapore while delivering greater flexibility and a more seamless travel experience for passengers.”

He also said the agreement “strengthens our international presence and supports our commitment to aligning with world-class service standards. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with Singapore Airlines and jointly contributing to the long-term, sustainable development of the regional aviation industry.”

From Singapore Airlines, Mr Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning, said the codeshare “is an important step in strengthening connectivity between Singapore and Vietnam. By leveraging our respective networks, we can offer customers more choice, greater flexibility, and seamless transfers across our services between the two countries. This will also support economic growth and tourism in our countries, and deepen the long-standing ties between Singapore and Vietnam.”

Vietnam Airlines is the national carrier of Vietnam, operating a fleet of over 100 aircraft, including Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350s, with routes to 22 domestic and 37 international destinations across 21 countries. Singapore Airlines traces its history back to 1947, operating today as a major international airline group with extensive global connectivity, including a long-standing presence connecting New Zealand to the world through Singapore Changi Airport.
