Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas has arrived in Brisbane, where it will be based for the first time as part of the cruise line’s return to Australia. The ship will operate a summer season from the city, offering 20 sailings ranging from short weekend trips to longer South Pacific voyages.

The Brisbane program includes cruises from three nights through to 12 nights, with itineraries covering the Queensland coast and destinations across the South Pacific.

“Our award-winning Voyager is an adventure-seeker’s dream and the perfect holiday match for the spirit of the Sunshine State,” said Gavin Smith, vice president and managing director, Australia and New Zealand, Royal Caribbean. “This season from Brisbane is one for the books with more weekend getaways and more island time than ever before across Queensland and South Pacific destinations, reinforcing the unforgettable memories that families can make on a Royal Caribbean holiday.”

Shorter sailings form a large part of the schedule, with ten cruises running between three and seven nights along the Queensland coastline. These itineraries include stops at Airlie Beach and Cairns, with some three-night trips departing on Fridays, aimed at travellers looking to fit a cruise into a busy calendar.

Longer South Pacific voyages are also on offer, with ten sailings between seven and nine nights visiting destinations such as Nouméa in New Caledonia and ports in Vanuatu including Port Vila, Mystery Island and Luganville.

The ship’s schedule includes sailings timed around the festive season, with an eight-night Christmas cruise and a nine-night New Year itinerary operating over the holidays. These voyages include onboard entertainment, dining and seasonal celebrations. At the other end of the scale is a 25-night transpacific sailing to Seattle, calling at destinations in French Polynesia and Hawaii.

Onboard, Voyager of the Seas features a wide range of activities aimed at different age groups. These include laser tag, a surf simulator, an ice-skating rink, waterslides and a dedicated water play area for younger children. There are also poolside bars, spa facilities and multiple entertainment venues.

Evening shows include ice-skating performances such as “Ice Odyssey” and stage productions featuring Broadway music. Dining options span a range of cuisines, with venues serving Japanese, Italian and steakhouse-style menus among the ship’s 20 food outlets.

The Brisbane season follows the recent arrival of Anthem of the Seas in Sydney Harbour. The ship, which made its Australian debut last month, is operating a separate summer program with 24 sailings ranging from short two-night trips to longer journeys of up to 18 nights around Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Also appearing this season are six themed cruises featuring The Wiggles, scheduled across both Voyager of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas. These sailings include appearances by Wiggly Friends, live shows, themed events and exclusive merchandise, alongside Royal Caribbean’s standard family programming.
