Korean Air has revealed a newly renovated Prestige East (Left) Lounge at Incheon International Airport’s Terminal 2, ahead of its official opening on January 14.

The lounge spans 1,553 square metres and seats 192 passengers. Its layout draws on the look and feel of hotel-style lounges, with a focus on open spaces and flexible seating. Facilities include a buffet, live cooking stations, dining areas, a bar and shower rooms, alongside dedicated work-friendly zones aimed at business travellers.

The redesign introduces several new experiential areas that move beyond the standard airport lounge offering.

One of the additions is the Ramyeon Library, a self-service station that allows passengers to customise instant noodles. Guests choose their preferred noodles and toppings before cooking them on automated machines, reflecting the growing global interest in Korean food.

Another feature is Cooking Studio L’atelier, run in collaboration with chefs from the Grand Hyatt Incheon. The space hosts participation-based classes, including activities such as chocolate bark making, with sessions available via on-site reservation.

An Arcade Room has also been added, offering photo booths, claw machines, air hockey and car racing games. The area is designed to appeal to families and younger travellers looking for entertainment before departure.

Alongside physical upgrades, the lounge now includes several digital service enhancements. Passengers using vouchers or mileage can reserve lounge access in advance through the Korean Air website or mobile app. First and Prestige Class passengers, along with SkyTeam Elite Plus members, continue to have priority access without needing a reservation.

Real-time crowd monitoring has also been introduced, with lounge occupancy levels displayed on the airline’s digital platforms using data from automated entry gates. During busy periods, a mobile queuing system notifies passengers when seats become available.

The Prestige East (Left) Lounge is located on the fourth floor of Terminal 2, opposite Gate 253. Its reopening forms part of a wider infrastructure expansion at Incheon Terminal 2 as Korean Air prepares for its integration with Asiana Airlines.

The airline completed the first phase of its lounge renewal project in August 2025, reopening the redesigned Miler Club and Prestige East (Right) Lounge, along with two Prestige Garden lounges at opposite ends of the terminal. Renovations of the First Class Lounge and Prestige West Lounge are scheduled to be completed in the first half of this year.

Once all projects are finished, Korean Air’s total lounge space at Terminal 2 will increase from 5,105 square metres to 12,270 square metres. Seating capacity will rise from 898 to 1,566 seats.
