Singapore Airlines will reduce the number of weekly flights on its Auckland route from January 2026, while deploying larger aircraft to maintain overall capacity.
From 19 January 2026, services between Auckland and Singapore will drop from 28 flights a week to 21. The airline will introduce the Airbus A380 on the route, alongside Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft and Air New Zealand-operated Boeing 777-300ER services.
Between 1 and 18 January 2026, the route will operate 28 weekly services: 14 flights on SIA’s A350-900 long-haul aircraft, seven on SIA’s Boeing 777-300ER, and seven operated by Air New Zealand using the same aircraft type.
From 19 January to 31 January 2026, the schedule shifts to 21 weekly services, made up of seven flights on SIA’s A350-900 long-haul, seven on the Airbus A380, and seven on Air New Zealand’s Boeing 777-300ER.
Singapore Airlines said the changes reflect adjustments to capacity and demand across its network.
Mr Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: “Singapore Airlines continually reviews our route network to align capacity with customer demand. These adjustments provide customers with more travel options and improved connectivity across key markets, particularly during peak seasonal periods. We look forward to welcoming customers on board our flights, and delivering SIA’s world-class service.”
The airline confirmed the Auckland changes alongside broader network updates for the 2026 northern summer season, which runs from 29 March to 24 October 2026. These include increased services to destinations such as Bangkok, Yangon, Surabaya and Colombo, as well as the deployment of the Airbus A380 on the Singapore–Dubai route.
Christchurch will continue to have 11 weekly services to Singapore, operated by Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft.
Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand operate the Auckland route as joint venture partners, with connections through Singapore Changi Airport to destinations across Asia, Europe and beyond.
