The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration begins May 16, 2025, commemorating seven decades and counting of The Happiest Place on Earth with must-see festivities throughout the resort, continuing through summer 2026.
In 1955, Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park with the hope it would be “a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” This limited-time celebration showcases that spirit of pure happiness with vibrant entertainment, décor, food and beverages, merchandise, and more.
Over its landmark 70-year history, Disneyland Resort has grown to encompass two theme parks, three hotels, and the Downtown Disney District. The resort’s future remains bright, with continued growth on the horizon to bring happiness to generations to come.
High-energy and heartfelt entertainment, day into night
From lively moments to awe-inspiring shows, the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration’s entertainment will have guests singing and dancing.
The much-anticipated return of the “Paint the Night” parade lights up Disneyland Park with vivid floats and over a million dazzling LED lights. “Wondrous Journeys,” the nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park, returns with projections and music that pay tribute to Walt Disney Animation Studios films, with fireworks on select evenings.
At Disney California Adventure Park, the all-new “World of Color – Happiness!” nighttime spectacular draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s words at Disneyland’s opening: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!” The water show includes a rendition of “Rainbow Connection” performed by Boyz II Men and a new original song, “Makes Me Wanna Move,” performed by FITZ, frontman of the multi-platinum group Fitz and the Tantrums.
The high-energy daytime parade “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” returns, featuring colorful floats and over two dozen Pixar characters, bringing life to the streets of Disney California Adventure Park.
Additional entertainment includes “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade” daytime processional and “Tapestry of Happiness” nighttime projection show on the façade of “it’s a small world” at Disneyland Park, along with “Celebrate Happy: A Little Bit of Magic Every Night” projections on Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park. A new theme song, “Celebrate Happy,” performed by the Jonas Brothers, is featured in several new entertainment offerings.
Walt Disney Records has released “Music From Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration,” now part of the Disneyland Official Playlist, available wherever music is streamed.
Select shows, performances, and experiences—including parades and nighttime spectaculars—may temporarily pause for seasonal entertainment offerings, with returns scheduled at later dates. Guests should check the Disneyland app or Disneyland.com for updated entertainment schedules.
Special anniversary décor and offerings, available for a limited time
The entire resort is decorated in bold blue, magenta, and purple with golden accents, including a stately medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and friends wear custom anniversary outfits in Town Square at Disneyland Park.
More than 70 new celebratory food and beverage offerings await, including nostalgic dishes with modern twists, themed sweets, and playful novelties.
A variety of merchandise collections will launch throughout the celebration, including apparel, toys, collectibles, and more. The colorful Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary Celebration Collection and the vintage-themed Vault Collection offer something for everyone across age groups and styles.
Recently debuted and new experiences
Beyond the limited-time celebration, guests can experience recently debuted attractions and new offerings. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a water ride, invites guests to “drop on in.”
Miguel and his loyal alebrije, Dante, from Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco, now appear in the Mexico section of “it’s a small world” at Disneyland Park.
“Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!”, a brand-new interactive stage show for young children, premieres at the Disney Theater in Disney California Adventure Park on May 16, 2025. Inspired by Disney Jr.’s Emmy® Award-winning Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the upcoming Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, it features original songs and character appearances.
On Disneyland Park’s 70th anniversary—July 17, 2025—new tributes debut to honor its legacy and vision for the future. “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” at the Main Street Opera House presents a cinematic journey through Walt Disney’s life, concluding with a never-before-seen visit with Walt in his office, brought to life with Audio-Animatronics storytelling.
The Opera House will also host a new gallery exhibit featuring art, artifacts, and more from Disneyland’s earliest days through today.
Also debuting July 17 are a tribute to the Sherman Brothers at the Main Street Cinema and a new verse added to the iconic song from “it’s a small world.”
Guests can explore a wide selection of dining and shopping at Downtown Disney District, which continues to evolve during the 70th Celebration. Recent additions include the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets candy shop, The D-Lander Shop, Parkside Market food hall, and several other locations.
