American Airlines will launch six new international routes in summer 2026, expanding its network across Europe and South America.

The carrier will begin flying from Philadelphia to Budapest and Prague, marking the only nonstop connections between the US and the Hungarian capital. New routes will also include Dallas Fort Worth to Athens and Zurich, Miami to Milan, and extended seasonal service from Dallas Fort Worth to Buenos Aires.

The new flights are scheduled to start between March and May 2026, with ticket sales opening on 11 August.

New and extended services:

  • Dallas Fort Worth – Athens: seasonal service from 21 May 2026 (Boeing 787-8)
  • Dallas Fort Worth – Buenos Aires: extended summer service 21 May – 3 August 2026 (Boeing 787-8)
  • Dallas Fort Worth – Zurich: seasonal service 21 May – 4 August 2026 (Boeing 777-200)
  • Miami – Milan: year-round service from 29 March 2026 (Boeing 787-8)
  • Philadelphia – Budapest: seasonal service from 21 May 2026 (Boeing 787-8)
  • Philadelphia – Prague: seasonal service from 21 May 2026 (Boeing 787-8)

American says demand for European travel remains strong, with Budapest and Prague adding new options for trans-Atlantic passengers from its Philadelphia hub. The new flights also come ahead of a major global sporting event in 2026, with Zurich and Buenos Aires services timed to connect fans with matches in Dallas.

In addition to the European and South American expansions, the airline will increase premium cabin capacity on routes to Tokyo Haneda from Dallas Fort Worth and Los Angeles by more than 45% compared with summer 2025.
