Southwest Airlines will begin flights to St. Maarten in April next year, marking the carrier’s first new international destination since 2021.

The airline announced that from 7 April 2026 it will launch daily roundtrip service between Orlando (MCO) and Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). Two days later, it will add weekend flights linking St. Maarten with Baltimore/Washington (BWI).

The new routes are expected to provide connections to more than 45 airports across the United States. All flights are subject to government approvals.

St. Maarten, which is divided between Dutch and French territories, is a well-known Caribbean destination and becomes the latest island on Southwest’s route map.

Alongside the Caribbean expansion, the airline also confirmed a new partnership with Taiwan’s EVA Air. The arrangement will allow travellers to combine Southwest’s domestic services with EVA’s transpacific flights via Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago O’Hare. Tickets are now available through EVA’s booking channels and travel agents.

Other updates to the schedule include seasonal services between Knoxville and Denver, starting 9 April 2026, and a new Saturday link between Chicago O’Hare and Panama City, Florida, beginning the same day.
