Two New Zealand travel brands are in the running for recognition at this year’s New Zealand Rainbow Excellence Awards. Air New Zealand and AirwaysNZ have been announced among the finalists for the 2025 event, which celebrates organisations and individuals advancing inclusion for Rainbow communities.

The awards, now in their seventh year, highlight workplace leadership, innovation and best practice in diversity and inclusion. Winners will be named at a ceremony at Auckland’s SkyCity Theatre on 24 October.

Air New Zealand Chief People Officer Nikki Dines said the recognition reflects ongoing efforts to support Rainbow staff and customers.

“Our vision is to be the world’s safest airline for Rainbow communities, and these awards are a meaningful way to celebrate the fantastic Rainbow inclusion work happening across Aotearoa. We’re especially proud that our Senior Learning Specialist, Cam Palmer, has been named a finalist. Cam embodies Air New Zealand’s values through his ongoing advocacy for equity and inclusion. From revitalising our Rainbow Parade presence, to creating learning modules that have helped thousands of our people, his work is making a real difference.”
