Emirates Skywards members can now use their Miles to book Premium Economy flights or upgrade from Economy, marking the first time the loyalty programme has extended rewards to the newer cabin class.

The update gives the airline’s more than 35 million members the option to redeem Classic Rewards or Upgrade Rewards for Premium Economy on Emirates flights.

Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said:

“We’re thrilled to announce the introduction of flight rewards on Emirates’ highly coveted Premium Economy cabin. This has been in development for some time and comes following the huge success, positive feedback, and strong demand by members to utilise Miles on Premium Economy – especially on popular long-haul destinations such as London, Sydney, Melbourne, and New York. The offer will initially be available exclusively to our Skywards members, with plans to extend to other airline partners in the future. We are confident this enhancement will further enrich the travel experience, staying true to our brand promise of always flying customers better. We look forward to more of our members now having the opportunity to experience Emirates’ newest, luxurious cabin with a service that rivals many airlines’ Business Class.”

Members can book one-way Premium Economy flights from 15,000 Miles or request upgrades from Economy starting at 7,020 Miles. Upgrades can be booked before a flight or requested at check-in, subject to availability.

The change comes after a busy summer for the loyalty programme, which saw almost half a million tickets redeemed using Classic Rewards, Cash+Miles and upgrades between June and August.

Skywards has also added Classic Rewards across flydubai flights, starting from 5,000 Miles, and revised its Cash+Miles redemption rates.

Premium Economy is currently available on more than 60 routes and features wider leather seats with up to 40 inches of pitch, calf and footrests, enhanced meals with wine options, and larger inflight entertainment screens.

The cabin has been introduced as part of Emirates’ US$5 billion retrofit programme. So far, 67 aircraft have been refurbished and nine new Airbus A350s have been delivered with Premium Economy seats. The airline expects to serve 68 cities with Premium Economy-equipped aircraft by March 2026.

By then, it plans to offer around two million Premium Economy seats a year, doubling to four million by the end of 2026.
